Why should I train with the Skid Monster?

  • It teaches drivers ten good driving habits that can prevent crashes.

  • Students practice and maintain driving skills that keep them at peak level.

  • Trains drivers to visualize the space their vehicle will occupy.

What are the requirements for the vehicle being brought to the Skid Control Training?

  • The vehicle must be in good mechanical condition and safe in the opinion of the instructor and there will be a brief safety inspection of the vehicle before it is allowed to participate.

  • The vehicle used at the event must be a legally registered, licensed and insured to participate. We will not accept any race cars or special use vehicles.

  • No visible leaks of any kind.

  • The tires must have visible tread and not worn to or beyond the wear bars.

  • All four tires must have the recommended pressure as listed in the Owner’s manual for the vehicle. Do NOT over inflate the tires past the recommended pressures.

  • The vehicle, including the trunk, must be cleaned of all loose items before participating.

  • The battery must be secure.

  • The spare tire must be secure.

  • Have plenty of gas in the vehicle for the day’s event.

What are the suggestions for the drivers?

  • Shoes must be closed toe, no sandals. We recommend running or tennis shoes.

  • Hat, sunglasses, bug spray, sunscreen, rain gear, jeans or shorts are acceptable.

  • Bring a lite lunch and plenty of water.

  • Dress comfortably, plan on it being either hot or cold or wet and dress accordingly. Check the local weather report the night before the training. Plan on the training class being held rain or shine.
